Introducing green initiatives designed to reduce the environmental impact of our properties is one of our top priorities at TFG Asset Management.
TRYP by Wyndham Dubai, for instance, recently installed new shower heads and tap aerators which have helped reduce water consumption by 62% without affecting the quality of the guest experience. TRYP by Wyndham also broke new ground when it became Dubai’s first ‘PET Free’ hotel with the introduction of recycled glass bottles and water dispensers installed in all guestrooms and common areas.
The initiative, which was launched in conjunction with Waterlogic, is an important step in our plan to eliminate all plastics from the hotel in the coming years. With the same objective in mind, the hotel will no longer purchase plastic pens as of August 2019. Rather, TRYP branded pens will be made from recycled paper.
We are also very proud to announce that Metro Central Apartments in Barsha Heights recently received Green Key certification for the third year in a row, making it one of only 23 hotels in Dubai and 3,000 worldwide to maintain this status.
Green Key certification is awarded to hotels that meet the highest environmental standards based on criteria including water conservation, energy savings, waste control and staff training initiatives.
From an asset management perspective, we are actively seeking to develop environmental initiatives that help reduce costs, waste and ultimately generate higher profit margins for our owners. We can determine the impact of these initiatives by reviewing the Payback period decrease, increasing returns to our owners and reducing our overall carbon footprint.
We are happy to reveal that all these green initiatives that have proven successful at TRYP by Wyndham Dubai and Metro Central will be rolled out to our other managed properties in the near future.
